I shot these portraits using the Fujifilm XF 56mm f1.2 R Fujinon Lens in 2014. I have long been a fan of the Fuji 60mm f/2.4 prime but I’m staggered at just how often I have been selecting the 56mm lens to make a portrait. This is one stellar piece of glass. I often use it at f/1.2 for long shots and f/2.4 for close ups.

Damien’s thoughts on the Fujifilm XF 56mm f/1.2 Lens
“The XF56mm f/1.2 was a breakthrough lens for the Fujifilm X system when it was released. I was reluctant to replace my 60mm lens at first, but eventually I was persuaded to give the 56mm a try. I’d say it is one of the jewels in the Fujifilm X system crown. I’ve shot extensively with the 56mm now and I must say it never fails to impress. I use it wide open at f/1.2 and I love its clean, uncluttered bokeh.
